On a corporate site the sale often does not finish on the site. The visitor calls, writes or leaves a form. If those three are not measured, the page with the most traffic gets confused with the page that brings the work.
Measurement should not be a snippet added on launch day. Which button counts as a lead, when a form is successful, and how a double submit is not counted twice are decided while the page is designed. The events use stable names, so the ads account can see which page produced the enquiry.
Measuring is not following the visitor around. Do not join personal data to an ad identity without a reason. Every field on the form should have an operational use. Removing a field you will not use helps both the conversion and the privacy load.
The first month after launch, reading the report and correcting the page, is the work. Installing measurement and never opening the report is the same as delivering the site and switching off the phone.
